Grand Theft Auto VI release details and pre-order milestones

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders for the title have reached approximately 6.46 million units, significantly outpacing previous major releases like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Retail versions of the game will be sold as “Code-in-Box” editions, meaning physical packaging will contain a digital download code rather than a disc. The Standard Edition is priced at approximately $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Pre-loading capabilities are expected to become available on November 12, 2026.

The game features protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos set in the fictional state of Leonida. Gameplay updates suggest a shift toward increased realism, including narrower roads and denser traffic compared to GTA V. The official soundtrack, titled “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album,” is a collaboration with Atlantic Records and features 34 tracks, including contributions from artists such as Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, and Justice.
