Seasonic and be quiet! announce high-end power supply innovations

Hardware manufacturers Seasonic and be quiet! have announced new high-end power supply units (PSUs) targeting professional workstations, AI systems, and high-end gaming PCs.

Seasonic has achieved the 80 PLUS Ruby certification with its PRIME ENTERPRISE RX-1600, a 1600W ATX model. This marks the first time the highest efficiency tier of the 80 PLUS program has been applied to consumer-format ATX power supplies tested at 115V. The Ruby standard requires extremely high efficiency even at very low loads, specifically demanding at least 85% efficiency at a 5% load and 91% at a 10% load. This focus on low-load efficiency is intended to reduce energy waste and heat in systems that spend significant time in idle or light-use states.

Concurrently, be quiet! is launching its Dark Power Pro 14 IO series, featuring 1300W and 1600W models. These units are 80 PLUS Titanium certified and support the ATX 3.1 standard with native 12V-2x6 connections for PCIe 5.1 GPUs. A notable feature of the be quiet! series is the introduction of the IO Center software, which allows users to monitor real-time power usage, efficiency, and fan speeds via a USB-C connection, and switch between single-rail and multi-rail operation.
