PCC criminal faction allegedly controls 12 bus companies in São Paulo

Investigations by the Civil Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office in São Paulo have revealed that the criminal faction Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) allegedly exerts direct or indirect control over 12 of the 22 bus companies operating in the capital. The investigation, known as Operação Vectura Corrupta, suggests the sector is attractive for money laundering due to its high daily cash flow, large capital requirements, and constant interaction with state regulatory bodies.

The operation has targeted several high-profile individuals, including former São Paulo City Council President Milton Leite, former mayoral candidate Danilo Marco Morgado Silva, and former SPTrans president Levi dos Santos Oliveira. Authorities are investigating potential interference in public bidding processes, contracts, and political campaigns. Specifically, there are allegations that the PCC provided resources to Danilo Morgado's campaign and that Milton Leite may be the hidden owner of the company Transwolff, which previously lost its concession due to criminal links.
