PCC leaders arrested in Brazil's Baixada Santista during Operation Acato
Police carried out Operation Acato in the Baixada Santista region of São Paulo state, arresting four high‑profile members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The suspects included Aldo César da Costa, known as “Apolo”, the right‑hand man of fugitive boss Fernando Gonçalves dos Santos (“Azul”), as well as Edison Tassara Júnior (“Jerusalém”), Marcos Duarte da Luz (“Libanês”) and Talita da Silva Costa (“Medusa”). The operation seized luxury items, cash, firearms and several smartphones for forensic analysis.
According to investigator Bruno Mateo Lázaro, “A operação desarticula o núcleo dos conhecidos disciplinas em cidades, como Itanháem, Peruíbe, Mongaguá e no Vale do Ribeira,” emphasizing the crackdown on the PCC’s violent discipline units that run parallel authority structures in the region.
