PcComponentes report: 85.6% of Spanish female gamers see cognitive benefits

A report titled ‘VI Radiografía del Gaming en España’ by PcComponentes reveals that 85.6% of female gamers in Spain perceive tangible cognitive benefits from playing video games. The study indicates that women use gaming as a tool for personal development and mental stimulation rather than just passive entertainment.

Key cognitive improvements identified include logic and orientation (42.3%), concentration and focus (32.9%), mental speed and decision-making (31.4%), and coordination (26%). Additionally, 36.4% of respondents use gaming as a way to escape daily stress.

The data suggests a mature and established gaming demographic among women. While 43.1% of respondents still associate the typical gamer profile with solo adolescents, the reality shows many women balance gaming with active social lives and employment. Approximately 46% play during their free time, and 42.6% play to relax after work. The smartphone is the most used platform (47.3%), followed by computers (40.6%) and consoles (37.1%).
