PCI Security Standards Council Holds 20th‑Anniversary Europe Community Meeting in Edinburgh

The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) will convene its Europe Community Meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 20 to 22 October 2026, marking the 20th anniversary of the council’s global payment‑security work. The three‑day event will bring together banks, retailers, payment‑service providers, assessors, technology firms and security professionals to address the growing influence of artificial intelligence on fraud, cyber‑crime and compliance.

Key sessions will explore AI‑driven risks to cardholder data, the future of autonomous payments, continuous assurance versus point‑in‑time audits, and strategies for combating emerging payment threats. The agenda also covers cloud‑native architectures, cryptography, regulatory changes and how compliance can drive business value. Ken Hughes, dubbed “The King of CX,” will deliver the opening keynote, offering insights on consumer behavior, AI and the evolving payments ecosystem.

The meeting aims to foster collaboration, share best practices and chart the path forward for a secure, trust‑centric payments industry worldwide.
