PCIe 6.0 technology advances with Cadence compliance and Teledyne LeCroy verification tools

The semiconductor and storage industries are advancing toward PCIe 6.0 standards to meet the high-bandwidth demands of AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and data centers.

Cadence has announced that its PHY and controller IP for the PCIe 6.0 specification successfully passed official compliance testing at the first PCI-SIG compliance workshop. Implemented using the TSMC N3 process, the subsystem solution was tested at the full PCIe 6.0 speed of 64GT/s. This achievement ensures interoperability and readiness for mass production in AI and data center environments.

Complementing these hardware developments, Teledyne LeCroy has launched the OakGate R300-G6-PRO and OakGate DE200-G6-PRO. These are the industry’s first native PCIe 6.0 verification platforms designed for next-generation NVMe SSD development. The platforms allow engineers to test functionality, performance, and reliability under real-world operating conditions, helping to reduce development risks and bottlenecks in the transition to PCIe 6.0.
