PCR expands Mataco‑San Jorge wind park to 276.6 MW, making it Buenos Aires' largest

Pampa Energía's renewable arm PCR added six new Vestas turbines of 6.2 MW each to the Mataco‑San Jorge wind park in Tornquist, Buenos Aires province. The expansion raises the complex's installed capacity to 276.6 MW, establishing it as the largest wind facility in the province and one of the country's major renewable projects.

The additional capacity allows the park to generate enough electricity to supply more than 340,000 households and avoid roughly 522,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. CAMMESA granted commercial authorization for the new turbines, enabling them to feed power into the Sistema Argentino de Interconexión (SADI) and participate in the wholesale electricity market.

With this development PCR now operates four wind complexes totaling 582 MW across Argentina and continues to invest in renewable projects, including the upcoming Olavarría wind park built in partnership with ArcelorMittal Acindar, which will add another 185.6 MW of capacity.
