PCT S.A. wins two Gold Awards at Environmental Awards 2026

PCT S.A. (Piraeus Container Terminal), a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Ports, has received two Gold Awards at the Environmental Awards 2026 for its innovative environmental management and technological solutions.

The awards recognize two specific projects: the ‘Carbon Intelligence Framework: Monitoring, Managing and Reducing Port Emissions’ and the ‘SMART Microclimate Forecasting Network: Enhancing Climate Resilience’. The Carbon Intelligence Framework is a comprehensive system for recording and managing greenhouse gas emissions, which has already contributed to a reduction in CO2 emissions of over 35% compared to the 2022 baseline.

The SMART Microclimate Forecasting Network utilizes 28 meteorological stations combined with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to provide specialized microclimate forecasts. This system is designed to strengthen climate resilience, enhance worker safety, and support operational continuity.
