PDAM Tirta Bangka Tengah confirms water security amid drought
PDAM Tirta Bangka Tengah has confirmed that raw water stocks remain sufficient to meet customer needs despite a three-month drought in the Bangka Belitung Islands province. Director Achmad Barliansyah stated that the primary water sources, Kolong Jongkong and Sarkawi, maintain depths of approximately 30 meters.
Water availability in the Koba district is projected to remain stable until December 2026, while the Simpangkatis area is expected to have adequate supplies until November 2026. However, the Namang district faces a potential emergency. In that area, water levels have dropped to approximately one meter and are reportedly mixed with mud. Officials warned that if rainfall does not occur by December, the water supply in Namang could reach a critical state.
