PDC announces 2027 darts schedule with new major in Salzburg

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has unveiled its 2027 tournament schedule, featuring significant expansions to its European circuit. A major addition is the inaugural European Open, a new major tournament scheduled to take place in Salzburg, Austria, from June 18 to June 20, with a prize pool of £750,000.

The European Tour will also see geographic expansion, hosting its first-ever event in France in Liévin from March 19 to 21. The tour will visit 15 cities across 10 different countries. Other notable changes include the expansion of the European Championship to 48 players with a £1 million prize pool, and the Players Championship Finals, which will increase from 64 to 128 players using a multi-board room format.

Additional schedule details include the Premier League Darts starting in February and concluding at London’s O2 Arena in May. The PDC also noted increased investment in the Challenge and Development Tours to support the sport's continued growth in Europe.
