PDI agent accused of assaulting search mother in Tláhuac
Jaqueline Palmeros, a member of the collective ‘Una Luz En El Camino CDMX’, has denounced Edith Gómez Díaz, an agent of the Investigation Police (PDI), for physical and verbal aggression during a search operation in the La Brecha area of Tláhuac.
According to Palmeros, the confrontation began when she offered technical assistance to government personnel after observing a lack of experience in the field. The agent allegedly responded with mockery and physical assault. The situation escalated when the agent reportedly attempted to draw her service weapon while being restrained by other personnel.
Palmeros is demanding the immediate dismissal and criminal prosecution of Gómez Díaz, stating that the agent’s behavior demonstrates she is an imminent danger to society. The activist noted that such incidents reflect a recurring pattern of police hostility toward families and collectives searching for missing persons in Mexico City and other states.
