PDI Perjuangan inaugurates new Taruna Merah Putih youth leadership

Megawati Soekarnoputri, Chairperson of PDI Perjuangan, has officially inaugurated the 2025–2030 leadership of the Taruna Merah Putih (TMP) youth organization. The ceremony took place at the PDI Perjuangan headquarters in Jakarta and was attended by PDI Perjuangan DPP Political Affairs Chairperson Puan Maharani.

Diah Pikatan O. P. Haprani, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the TMP Central Leadership Board. Haprani emphasized that the organization's primary goal is to make politics more approachable for the younger generation through a movement titled ‘Politik Menjadi Asik’ (Politics Becomes Fun).

The strategic shift comes as demographic data from the KPU indicates that Millennials and Gen Z are expected to constitute approximately 56 percent of the total electorate for the 2029 elections. Haprani aims to transform the perception of politics from something perceived as dirty or intimidating into a comfortable space for political education and real community work.
