PDIP begins construction of new Samosir branch office

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has commenced the construction of its Samosir Branch Leadership Council (DPC) office in North Sumatra. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on August 15, 2026, in Lumban Suhi-Suhi Toruan Village, was led by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and DPP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

The planned complex is expected to include a main building, a meeting hall, and a statue of Sukarno, with a target completion date of January 2027. During the event, Hasto Kristiyanto conveyed a message from Party Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, emphasizing that the facility should not be an elitist physical structure. Instead, the office is intended to serve as a center for political consolidation, cadre training, and the defense of the people, remaining connected to the local community.
