PDIP holds Kudatuli commemoration in Sleman to strengthen party unity

The Democratic Party (PDIP) branch in Sleman organized a sarasehan in Berbah on 5 August 2026 to mark the 1996 Kudatuli incident. The gathering brought together party cadres, senior members and local figures to reinforce militancy, solidify internal cohesion and collect input from veterans.

Deputy Chair of the DPD, Dwi Wahyu, warned that today’s challenges come from internal competition and political pragmatism, urging young cadres not to be divided or lured away. He said, “The fire of struggle must be passed on; we must not let anyone pit us against each other.” Vice‑Chair of the Sleman DPC, Budi Sanyata, highlighted the event as a forum for senior advice, while participants such as Yuni Satiya Rahayu and Yan Kurnia shared memories of the historic struggle.
