PDM Treviso awarded Stella d’Argento for Paralympic merit

The Polisportiva Disabili di Marca Treviso (PDM Treviso) has been awarded the Stella d’Argento al Merito Sportivo Paralimpico by the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP). This prestigious honor is granted to organizations that demonstrate continuous excellence, significant sporting results, and a profound commitment to spreading Paralympic sports throughout the country.

Founded in 1993 by four paraplegic friends, PDM Treviso has evolved from a local initiative into a prominent fixture in Italian wheelchair basketball, currently competing in the FIPIC Serie A. The club has achieved national success and participated in European competitions such as the Eurocup.

In an official communication signed by CIP President Marco Giunio De Sanctis, the award was described as a deserved recognition of the club’s extraordinary results and its dedication to sporting values. Beyond competitive achievements, the award highlights the club's social impact, noting its role in providing functional and psychological rehabilitation, fostering self-esteem, and promoting personal independence through sport.
