PDP ends electoral alliance with Accord Party in Osun State
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has terminated its electoral alliance with the Accord Party. PDP National Treasurer Diran Odeyemi announced that the collaboration was specifically designed to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid during the August 15 governorship election, where Adeleke ran under the Accord platform.
Odeyemi clarified that the arrangement does not extend to the 2027 general elections. The PDP has begun preparations for the upcoming polls and confirmed that Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla, the current representative for the Osun Central Senatorial District, remains the party’s candidate for the 2027 Senate election.
The party leadership emphasized that the dissolution of the partnership is a matter of organizational strategy rather than a personal conflict, noting that the Accord Party’s senatorial candidate for the district, Gani Olaoluwa, remains a friend of the party leadership.
