PDVSA export revenues reach $17.2 billion in 2026

PDVSA recorded $17.2 billion in invoiced export revenues by the end of the second four-month period of 2026. This figure represents a 76% increase compared to the first four-month period of the year, which closed at $5.491 billion.

According to analysis by Bitácora Económica, the growth is attributed to rising international crude prices and increased export volumes. During the first eight months of the year, the Merey basket averaged $71.4 per barrel, an increase of approximately $12 compared to the same period in 2025. The revenue was primarily driven by the shipment of heavy and extra-heavy crude oil, as well as the sale of refined subproducts.

While the invoiced amount is significant, reports note it does not fully represent the immediate liquidity available to the state. A portion of these funds is allocated to essential operating costs, such as purchasing diluents for crude processing. Additionally, analysts indicate that approximately 70% of these resources—roughly $12 billion—has been injected into the Banco Central de Venezuela's exchange market to stabilize the national currency.
