Peña Ateneo celebrates 15 years with folklore event in Lincoln

Peña Ateneo will celebrate its 15th anniversary this Saturday, September 5, with a folklore performance at the Cine Teatro Porta Pía in Lincoln. The event marks the group's final performance of the year.

Director Joaquín López confirmed that the celebration will feature prominent artists, including Salteño singer Pitín Salazar, Ricardo Palavecino from Formosa, and Patricia Villarreal from Alem. The program will also include performances by La Ancalú de Pinto and various dance groups such as Agitando Pañuelos and Abrazando el Folclore.

López noted the significant growth of folklore in Lincoln over the past 15 years, observing that the city has expanded from a few dancers to hosting between six and eight dance academies.
