Peace March held between Gravina and Altamura

Hundreds of participants joined a Peace March traveling from Gravina to Altamura to advocate against war, violence, and oppression. The event brought together individuals, institutions, and associations from various centers across Puglia and Basilicata, including Matera, Grassano, Ferrandina, Corato, Minervino, and Spinazzola.

Bishop Domenico Basile issued a message to the participants, emphasizing the march as a concrete sign of the desire to build paths of peace, protect the environment, and promote equitable and sustainable development. He highlighted the need for social justice and warned against the risks of illegal waste dumping in the Puglia region, calling for the territory to serve as an ‘Ark of Peace’ rather than an ‘arch of war’.
