Peaceful Rain peace initiative to be launched in Rijeka

The Peaceful Rain initiative, a new international and interreligious peace movement, will be officially presented on Tuesday, October 27, at the Rijeka Archdiocese hall. The initiative emerged from the Mediterranean Theological Encounters held in Lovran this past July.

The presentation will feature high-ranking religious leaders, including Rijeka Archbishop and Metropolitan Mate Uzinić, German Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church Grigorije Durić (via video link), and Mufti Aziz ef. Hasanović, President of the Islamic Community in Croatia.

Designed to address global conflicts and rising militarization, Peaceful Rain aims to connect individuals of diverse faiths, cultures, and beliefs. The movement emphasizes that peacebuilding is a collective responsibility of all individuals rather than solely the duty of political and religious leaders.
