Peach Festivals Celebrate Summer Harvest in California and Virginia

The Folsom Community Farmers Market in California will host a free "Peaches at the Market" celebration on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 440 Palladio Parkway. More than 100 local vendors, including California peach growers, will offer fresh peaches, seasonal produce, and peach‑inspired foods. Live music by Steady Eddy and the Shakers, a Kids Corner, hourly cakewalks and peach‑themed contests are planned for families.

In the Washington, D.C. area, Great Country Farms in Bluemont, Virginia, will hold its annual peach festival on Aug. 1‑2. Attendees can compete in pie‑eating and peach‑pit‑spitting contests, sample freshly baked peach goods, and enjoy a play area for children. The event highlights the region’s peach harvest and draws local vendors and visitors.

Both festivals aim to promote local agriculture, provide family‑friendly entertainment, and celebrate the peak of the summer peach season.
