Peacock orders Wendy Williams documentary series for 2027

Peacock has greenlit a three-part documentary series tentatively titled ‘Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show,’ scheduled to premiere in 2027. The project aims to explore the career of media personality Wendy Williams, her rise from radio to daytime television, and the circumstances surrounding her departure from her long-running talk show in 2022.

Suzanne Bass, a longtime executive producer of ‘The Wendy Williams Show,’ will serve as an executive producer on the documentary. The series is expected to feature interviews with more than 20 former staffers.

Reports indicate that Williams was not involved in the approval of the project and was ‘blindsided’ by the announcement. This comes amid ongoing legal and health complexities for Williams, who has been under a court-appointed guardianship since 2022 and has publicly expressed a desire to regain her independence.
