Crystal Lake series starring Linda Cardellini to debut on Peacock Oct. 15, 2026
Peacock and A24 are launching the eight‑episode prequel series Crystal Lake, a new entry in the Friday the 13th franchise. The show centers on single mother Pamela Voorhees, portrayed by Emmy‑nominated Linda Cardellini, and follows her descent into grief‑driven madness after her son Jason drowns in Crystal Lake. Showrunner and executive producer Brad Caleb Kane describes the series as a psychological thriller that explores Pam’s backstory rather than the masked killer.
The first official teaser and images were released in July 2026, revealing a 1970s setting and a tone that blends classic slasher elements with character‑driven horror. All eight hour‑long episodes drop simultaneously on October 15, 2026 (October 16 in Australia). In the United States the series streams on Peacock; in Brazil it will be available via Universal+, and Sky has secured rights for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The production includes a supporting cast of William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom and others, with direction shared by Michael Lennox, Celine Held, Logan George and Quyen Tran.
