Peacock renews Jennifer Garner's 'The Five Star Weekend' for Season 2

Peacock announced that the drama series "The Five Star Weekend" has been given a second‑season order. The show, starring Jennifer Garner as food‑influencer Hollis Shaw, is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s 2023 novel and also features D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane and Timothy Olyphant. Creator Bekah Brunstetter, who originally pitched the series as a limited run, said she envisions a multi‑season arc and has ideas for future locations.

The renewal follows record viewership: the series is Peacock’s most‑watched scripted series ever, with more than 2 billion minutes streamed and ranking among Nielsen’s top five streaming originals in its first two weeks. NBCUniversal’s Lisa Katz praised the audience’s response, noting the story’s relatable focus on friendship and grief.

Around the same time, Garner posted an Instagram photo showing a prominent diamond ring, prompting speculation about a possible engagement to longtime partner John Miller. The personal update received widespread fan reaction but did not affect the series’ renewal status.
