Pearl Abyss has launched a free, 20-minute streaming demo for its action RPG, Crimson Desert, accessible via Twitch. Utilizing Amazon GameLift Streams technology, the demo allows players to experience the game directly through a web browser without the need for large file downloads or installations.
The demo places players in a more advanced chapter of the game's story, allowing them to control characters such as Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka with nearly fully unlocked skill trees. This approach is intended to showcase the title's complex combat mechanics. While the cloud-based setup offers immediate access, performance is dependent on internet stability, as connection issues may cause latency or visual compression.
Alongside the demo, Pearl Abyss released patch 2.00.02 across all platforms. This update addresses several technical issues, including improved character lip-syncing in certain cutscenes, fixing unresponsive controls when using a small crane in Karin Quarry, and resolving a bug that caused characters to dismount when colliding with wandering merchants while riding horses.
