Pearl Hill Fire reaches 8,500 acres, evacuations near Bridgeport, WA

The Pearl Hill Fire ignited on Saturday, July 25 around 1:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Road 27 NE, about 10 miles southeast of Bridgeport in Douglas County, Washington. Within two days the blaze expanded from roughly 1,500 acres to an estimated 8,491 acres, with zero percent containment. State resources were mobilized and aerial suppression was employed alongside ground crews establishing containment lines.

Level 2 evacuation orders were issued for residents along Road 28 NE from Roads J NE to Q NE and all northbound roads, including Roads K NE, L NE (Chalk Road), M NE, 30 NE, as well as the areas around Brandt's Landing, Dudley, Judson, and Lone Pine Lakes. Sheriff Tyler Caille described the fire as burning in "some pretty rugged terrain" bordering the south side of the Columbia River opposite the Colville Indian Reservation. No structures have been damaged, no injuries reported, and the cause remains under investigation.
