Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah focus on recovery and strategy after China Masters

Malaysian women's doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are facing scrutiny following a recent performance at the China Masters, where they failed to progress past the round of 16. The pair, currently ranked fifth in the world, are working to address inconsistencies and prepare for the 2026 Asian Games.

Badminton legend Datuk Seri Jalani Sidek suggested the duo needs to adopt a more aggressive strategy, specifically by utilizing more smash attacks to prevent opponents from easily reading their play patterns. He noted that while Thinaah often controls the game from the backcourt, Pearly has been prone to errors that need correction.

Pearly Tan attributed their inconsistent form to recurring injury issues, stating that she is working to regain her best form. Thinaah acknowledged that the China Masters highlighted weaknesses that require immediate improvement, but expressed confidence that the pair is making incremental daily progress.
