Francesco Bagnaia signs four‑year deal with Aprilia for 2027

Two‑time MotoGP champion Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia will leave Ducati at the end of the 2026 season and join Aprilia Racing on a four‑year contract starting in 2027. The Italian will team up with fellow countryman Marco Bezzecchi, creating an all‑Italian lineup for the Noale‑based squad as the championship moves to the new 850 cc engine formula.

Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola said the signing “confirms the value of Italian sport, which has distinguished itself on the world stage” and expressed pride in bringing a multiple world champion to the team. Ducati confirmed a separate set of moves: a contract extension for Marc Márquez through 2028 and the acquisition of young Spanish talent Pedro Acosta for the 2027‑28 seasons, forming an all‑Spanish factory pair.

These announcements complete a major reshuffle of the 2027 MotoGP grid, with Jorge Martín heading to Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo expected to leave Yamaha, and other rider placements still to be finalised ahead of the technical changes slated for the new era.
