Pechuquiz water service diagnosis identifies supply deficiencies

A diagnostic study conducted by the Universidad Nacional de Piura has evaluated the administration of the JASS (Junta Administradora de Servicios de Saneamiento) in the Pechuquiz populated center, located in the Frías district of Ayabaca, Piura.

The research aimed to optimize water supply services for the community. While the study found that 84.3% of users meet their basic needs and 63.9% participate in informative meetings, significant deficiencies were identified. During the dry season, 68.5% of households receive only between 2 and 4 hours of water daily, and during the rainy season, 55.6% receive between 5 and 8 hours. Additionally, the community reported frequent supply cuts, low pressure in 34.3% of cases, and slightly turbid water in 49.1% of instances.
