81-year-old e‑bike rider killed in L817 crash near Lichtenau

An 81‑year‑old pedestrian‑type e‑bike (pedelec) rider died after colliding with a Toyota Yaris Cross on the L817 near Lichtenau on 20 July. The 60‑year‑old driver of the Toyota sustained only light injuries. The accident caused the road to be closed for several hours while investigators worked and the estimated property damage was around €15,000.

In Buldern, a 50‑year‑old man from Havixbeck suffered life‑threatening injuries after falling from his pedelec on the Nottulner Straße on a Sunday evening. He was not wearing a helmet and was taken to hospital.
