Pedestrian fatalities reported in Wilmington and Camden

Two separate fatal pedestrian incidents involving vehicles have been reported in the Delaware and New Jersey region.

In Wilmington, Delaware, 17-year-old Brian Mondragon died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle. Police report the incident occurred following a traffic stop and a brief pursuit. Authorities allege the driver, also 17, fled a police stop and subsequently struck Mondragon near Taylor and Spruce streets. Two teenagers were taken into custody following foot pursuits; police stated both were allegedly found carrying loaded handguns. The driver faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault and reckless driving.

In Camden, New Jersey, 19-year-old Angel Saravia-Estrada died after being struck by a vehicle driven by an off-duty Camden County Police officer. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning on Admiral Wilson Boulevard. The driver remained at the scene, and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the crash.
