Pedestrian killed in Newark, Delaware vehicle crash

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday evening in Newark, Delaware. The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Library Avenue and East Delaware Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance until paramedics and fire company personnel arrived. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The Newark Police Department’s Traffic Response Unit closed the intersection for approximately three hours to process evidence.
