Pedestrian Killed in Six-Vehicle A40 Collision in Carmarthenshire

A six-vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A40 between the PC World roundabout and Abergwili roundabout in Carmarthenshire at about 9:50 pm on 28 July. A 44‑year‑old male pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles, including a marked police patrol car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dyfed‑Powys Police are leading the investigation and have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office of Police Conduct. Both carriageways were closed for an extended period, and motorists were advised to use alternative routes. No arrests have been made, and officers are seeking information and dash‑cam footage from anyone who was travelling the road at the time.
