Pediatric health initiatives focus on medical training and community wellness

The #DonaUnCuore campaign has launched to support the Aesculapius Project, an initiative focused on high-level training in pediatric cardiac surgery, cardiology, and echocardiography. The project aims to train young doctors from emerging countries in Italy, enabling them to return to their home nations to provide essential medical assistance. This effort addresses the critical shortage of qualified medical personnel in developing regions and war zones, where approximately 1.5 million children with congenital heart disease lack life-saving care annually.

In Bergamo, the Associazione Amici della Pediatria, in collaboration with Asst Papa Giovanni XXIII, is hosting the thirteenth edition of ‘A merenda con lo sport’. This community event promotes healthy lifestyles, physical activity, and proper nutrition for children and families. Held at the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital and GiCoBe Park, the initiative features various sports demonstrations, including martial arts, rugby, skating, tennis, and sailing, to encourage healthy habits from an early age.
