Pediatric Hospital in Bielsko-Biała to reopen neurology clinic
The Pediatric Hospital in Bielsko-Biała is reinstating its Pediatric Neurology Clinic, scheduled to resume operations on October 1. The clinic had been formally liquidated in the summer of 2024 following a critical shortage of specialists.
The staffing crisis began after the previous pediatric neurologist retired. While the hospital briefly attempted to maintain services using a specialist commuting from Katowice once a week, the arrangement ended due to the difficulties of regular travel. Despite the formal closure of the clinic, the hospital continued its search for a permanent specialist.
The reopening will provide free services funded by the National Health Fund. The clinic serves not only children in Bielsko-Biała but also patients from surrounding counties, including Żywiec, Cieszyn, Wadowice, Oświęcim, and Pszczyna.
