Pediculosis transmission facts and hygiene myths
Pediculosis, commonly known as a lice infestation, is a condition that can affect any individual, though it is most frequent among children in collective environments like schools and daycare centers.

Transmission occurs primarily through direct head-to-head contact or by crawling from one person to another. Contrary to common myths, lice do not have the ability to jump or fly.
To prevent the spread, experts recommend avoiding the sharing of personal items such as combs, brushes, hats, and other hair accessories. When an infestation is identified, it is advised to check everyone who has had close contact with the affected person and use appropriate tools, such as fine-toothed combs, to manage the condition.
