Pedraza flooding submerges 70,000 hectares of farmland

Heavy rainfall in the Pedraza municipality of Barinas state has caused the Canaguá River to overflow, flooding approximately 70,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Los Mangos de Maporal sector.

Local authorities, including Mayor Jessica Lalama, have deployed security forces, Civil Protection, and the Bolivarian National Guard to assist affected families. Emergency relief efforts include the distribution of food, mattresses, and mosquito nets, as well as vaccination programs for residents whose homes and properties were inundated.
