Pedri defends midfield partnership with Rodri after Barcelona victory

Following FC Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Valencia, midfielder Pedri addressed speculation regarding his ability to coexist on the pitch with summer signing Rodri. Despite previous concerns that their playing styles might clash, Pedri described playing alongside the 30-year-old as “very comfortable,” noting Rodri’s ball retention and defensive contributions.

In the same match, which marked Rodri’s first start for the club, Pedri also scored his first goal of the campaign. Former Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta praised Pedri’s performance but dismissed comparisons between the young midfielder and himself, stating that Pedri possesses his own unique qualities and should be appreciated as an individual rather than a “mixture of anything.”
