Pedro Acosta joins Ducati MotoGP squad as teammate of Marc Márquez
Spanish rider Pedro Acosta confirmed his move to the Ducati MotoGP team, stating the signing was "the worst kept secret in the paddock." He made the comments at the Assen circuit in the Netherlands, emphasizing his intention to learn from nine‑time world champion Marc Márquez, whom he will partner with after the team announced a contract extension for Márquez through 2028.
Acosta, a two‑time world champion, will replace Francesco Bagnaia, who is set to leave Ducati in April. The agreement, formalised in Brno, Czech Republic, follows a series of rider transfers that began with Ducati renewing Márquez’s deal. Acosta expressed confidence in the Ducati organisation and hopes to capitalize on the opportunity to develop his career alongside the experienced champion.
