Pedro Acosta set for Ducati move after mixed 2026 MotoGP season

Spanish rider Pedro Acosta will join Ducati in 2027 on a two‑year contract, replacing Francesco Bagnaia. Ducati general manager Luigi Dall’Igna praised Acosta’s “respect for his rivals, more so than most riders,” and said the team sees him as a cornerstone for future ambitions.

During the first half of the 2026 MotoGP season, Acosta won the sprint race in Thailand but has not yet secured a Grand Prix victory. He sits seventh in the championship after three DNFs and technical problems with his KTM, though he finished fourth at the German round in early July. The rider rated his own performance as a seven out of ten for the half‑season, noting recurring technical issues and injuries that hampered results.
