Pedro Acosta threatens to leave KTM over recurring engine failures

Spanish MotoGP rider Pedro Acosta criticised KTM after his RC16 bike suffered another engine failure on the final lap of the Czech Grand Prix, forcing him to abandon the race while running fifth. Acosta said he was no longer disappointed, noting that the problem was beyond his control and urging the team to send “everything to the factory” to resolve the recurring reliability issues.

Reports suggest Acosta is eyeing a move to Ducati, where he could partner with seven‑time world champion Marc Márquez when his contract with KTM expires. The potential switch would represent a major reshuffle in the premier class, giving Ducati two generational talents and leaving KTM to address the technical shortcomings that have strained its relationship with the sport’s brightest newcomer.
