Pedro Acosta to join Ducati factory team in 2027

Spanish rider Pedro Acosta will leave KTM to join the Ducati factory team in 2027, where he will become teammate to nine-time world champion Marc Márquez. The move follows a six-year relationship with KTM, during which Acosta secured Moto3 and Moto2 world titles.

KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer acknowledged that the manufacturer failed to maintain Acosta's trust, expressing disappointment over the loss of the talent. Acosta noted that his decision to leave was driven by the realization that winning a title with KTM in the near future seemed unlikely.

Acosta, 22, stated he feels no pressure regarding the transition, noting the difference in career stages between himself and Márquez. “Marc is in the final phase of his career and I am just beginning mine,” Acosta said, adding that he will need time to adapt to the Italian factory environment after years with the Austrian manufacturer.
