Pedro Alliana manages presidential ticket selection process
Vice President Pedro Alliana is overseeing the selection process for his future presidential running mate. A national poll involving 5,000 participants is currently underway across all 17 departments of Paraguay to help inform the decision, though Alliana emphasized that the results are a tool for guidance rather than a definitive mandate.
Potential candidates for the vice presidency include Deputy Raúl Latorre, Guairá Governor César Sosa, and Minister of Industry Marco Riquelme. While internal tensions have emerged within the Honor Colorado faction regarding the influence of regional governors and party leadership, legislator Chase has defended the tradition of allowing presidential aspirants to choose their own running mates.
Following President Santiago Peña’s upcoming trip, the movement intends to finalize its name, campaign leadership, and technical teams.
