Pedro Feijoo wins X Cartagena Negra Novel Prize
Galician writer Pedro Feijoo has won the X Cartagena Negra Novel Prize for his work ‘Donde nacen las bestias’. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the XII edition of the Cartagena Negra festival at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center.
Feijoo’s winning novel combines a modern police investigation with a historical review of the ‘Sacamantecas’ case, often cited as the first serial killer in Spanish history. The narrative explores how past criminal patterns can mirror present-day events.
The award was presented by María Comas, the General Coordinator of Culture for the Cartagena City Council. Other winners at the event included Andrés Cortés Caballero, who received the III Philip Marlowe Prize, and Guillermo de Oliveira, who won the X REPSOL-CTNEGRA Short Film Prize.
