Pedro Gonçalves makes first starting appearance for Fiorentina

Pedro Gonçalves has made his first start for Fiorentina in a match against Como. The Portuguese playmaker, who joined from Sporting CP on a loan with an obligation to buy for €22.5 million, had previously been sidelined by manager Paolo Vanoli due to fitness concerns.

Vanoli had previously expressed caution regarding Gonçalves, noting that while the player possesses significant offensive talent with a high number of goals and assists, he needed to regain match rhythm and physical conditioning following a difficult summer at Sporting CP. The manager emphasized the importance of team balance, stating that talent alone is insufficient if it disrupts the squad's equilibrium.

After a period of integration following the departure of former coach Fabio Grosso, the 1998-born player has finally been selected for the starting lineup in the seventh round of the championship.
