Pedro Martínez and wife honored for foundation work at Fenway Park
Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martínez and his wife, Carolina Martínez, were honored during Hispanic Heritage Night at Fenway Park for their philanthropic work through the Pedro Martínez Foundation. During the pre-game ceremony, Carolina Martínez threw the ceremonial first pitch while Pedro Martínez served as the catcher.
The foundation is currently implementing several social initiatives. In Lawrence, Massachusetts, an extracurricular programming and technology program has been launched for third and fourth-grade students across seven public schools. This initiative, running from October 5 to December 11, 2026, aims to introduce basic computing skills to students in a secure environment.
In the Dominican Republic, the foundation is preparing to inaugurate the Pedro Martínez Educational and Sports Complex in Manoguayabo. Developed through a public-private partnership with the Ministry of Education, the complex is designed to serve approximately 1,700 students and will include a primary school, a technical high school, a community center, a gymnasium, a baseball stadium, and various sports courts.
