Chelsea extends Pedro Neto's contract and praises Joao Pedro

Chelsea has announced that winger Pedro Neto has signed a new long-term contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2032. The 26-year-old Portuguese international, who joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2024, has become a versatile asset under manager Xabi Alonso, frequently being deployed in a wing-back role. Neto has made 108 appearances for the club, contributing 40 goals and assists during his tenure.

Separately, Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has offered high praise for striker Joao Pedro following his strong start to the 2026-27 season. After being named the Premier League Player of the Month for August, Pedro has been compared by Alonso to both Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema. Alonso described the 24-year-old Brazilian as a “very complete and intelligent” player, noting his effectiveness both inside and outside the penalty area.
