Pedro Obiang retires from football to join AC Monza

Equatoguinean former midfielder Pedro Obiang has officially announced his retirement from professional football. Through a social media statement, Obiang shared that he is transitioning into a management career.

Obiang will take on the role of Sporting Director at AC Monza. In his farewell message, he reflected on how football shaped him both on and off the field, expressing gratitude to the various federations, clubs, and professionals who supported his development from his youth national team years through his professional career.

He emphasized that a career is built not just through playing, but by listening, learning, and preparing for new opportunities. Following the announcement, Sassuolo, a club where he spent a significant portion of his career, issued a message of support.
