Pedro Parente rejects voting for Flávio Bolsonaro

Pedro Parente, the former Chief of Staff and former president of Petrobras, stated that he will not vote for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro for president. Parente made these remarks in a message to a group of economists following a dinner held on August 27, which was intended to allow business leaders and executives to hear the senator's proposals.

Parente noted that he attended the meeting deliberately to evaluate a potential presidential candidate, but concluded that his opinion of Bolsonaro worsened after the discussion. He emphasized that the meeting began with an explicit declaration that attendance did not constitute political support or a request for campaign assistance.

These comments were made in response to an article by João Moreira Salles, founder of piauí magazine, which criticized business executives for meeting with the senator. Parente expressed respect for Salles but noted that the article did not accurately reflect his political positions, stating that his views are publicly available through his regular column in O Globo.
